Q: What is Prep Chefs?
A: We're your outsourced kitchen partner. We prep and cook your exact dishes — to your recipes, your standards — and deliver them fresh, ready to serve.
Q: Do I have to change my menu to work with you?
A: Not at all. You send us your current menu or list of dishes — we adapt to you, not the other way around.
Q: Are your chefs trained professionals?
A: Yes. Our chefs have worked in top UK restaurants, hotels, and even Michelin-starred kitchens.
Q: Can we trial your service before fully switching?
A: Yes — many clients start with a small selection of dishes to see the benefits firsthand.
Q: Is this like a food supplier or a ghost kitchen?
A: No. We're a bespoke service focused only on cooking your menu — not selling ready-made food or operating a virtual brand.
🔹 OPERATIONS & ORDERING
Q: How do I get started?
A: Share your menu and tell us what you'd like help with. We'll assess it, suggest solutions, and provide a custom quote.
Q: Why do I need to send my menu?
A: Because we cook your food — not a fixed range. We need to understand what you serve in order to give you accurate pricing and options.
Q: Who places the orders — me or my chef?
A: Either works. Once you're onboarded, anyone from your team can place daily or weekly orders with us.
Q: What's the cut-off time to order for next-day delivery?
A: 5:00 PM. After that, we begin prep and production for next-day delivery.
Q: Can I change my order last minute?
A: We're flexible, but prep begins early. We'll always try to accommodate changes where possible.
Q: How do I confirm what I'm getting?
A: You'll get a clear order summary and packing list with every delivery.
🔹 FOOD & QUALITY
Q: Is the food fresh or frozen?
A: Always fresh. Cooked to order, chilled, and delivered daily — never frozen unless requested.
Q: How is the food packaged?
A: Professionally packed and labelled. Portions can be by the tray or individual units, depending on your needs.
Q: Can you meet dietary requirements?
A: Yes. Vegan, gluten-free, halal, allergen-free — just let us know and we'll prepare accordingly.
Q: Can you match the presentation or plating style we use?
A: Absolutely. We'll work with your head chef or team to match your expectations.
Q: What's the shelf life of the food?
A: 3–4 days chilled, depending on the item — but we recommend serving within 48 hours for best quality.
🔹 PRICING & DELIVERY
Q: How do you price your dishes?
A: We price based on ingredients, prep complexity, and portion size — always tailored to your menu.
Q: Can I see a cost comparison vs what I pay now?
A: Yes. We'll show a full breakdown, including your raw ingredient costs, labour, energy, wastage, and hidden costs like NI.
Q: Do I pay per dish or per tray?
A: Either. We can price by individual portion or in bulk trays — whichever fits your service style.
Q: Is delivery included?
A: Yes — no hidden charges. Delivery is included in your per-portion or per-tray pricing.
Q: Do you offer credit terms?
A: New clients pay on order or delivery. Once we build trust, we may offer 7–30 day credit depending on volume and size.
Q: Can you deliver to multiple sites?
A: Yes — we work with single-site and multi-site operators. Orders are split and labelled by location.

Q: Can you help us streamline our kitchen?
A: Yes. We offer menu consultations to identify which dishes are ideal for outsourcing and where you can save the most.
Q: Do you offer custom packaging or branding?
A: Yes. For higher volume clients, we offer white-label packaging with your brand or custom labels.
Q: Do you help with allergens or calorie labelling?
A: We can assist with this as part of your onboarding, depending on your requirements.
Q: What if something isn't right with an order?
A: Call us immediately. We take every issue seriously and resolve it fast.
